As of the week commencing 25th May (excluding the Bank Holiday) we will be relaxing our emergencies only protocol and opening up to animals thatare overdue boosters by 3months (ie were due in March). Please contact the surgery for further details
With daily changes to government advise, we are taking our responsibility seriously to both reduce pressure on the NHS by maintaining public health whilst still offering our 24/7 emergency service. Our continuing dedication to your beloved pets and ensuring our dedication to animal welfare is of paramount importance to us at this difficult time
We are taking advice from our governing bodies such as the British Veterinary Association and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as to how to proceed to maintain our standards of care to your animals combined with complying with the governments social distancing legislation. Please see below the measures we are taking to minimise exposure within the practice to safeguard both our clients and our staff:
> Consultations hours have been altered. We will be consulting from 9am-12pm and 3pm-6pm at 15 minute intervals to reduce the number of people we have in the practice at any time. These consultations are for EMERGENCIES ONLY
> Routine appointments and surgeries work will be postponed with immediate effect, you will be contacted if anything is already booked
> We are asking that only one owner comes in with their animals, and that they wait in the car park until being called in. If possible, consults will be taking place in the car park
> If you have symptoms, or are self isolating please call the practice for advise before coming down. Please do not enter the practice yourself. It may be necessary for someone else to bring your animal down if a consultation is recommended
> There are hand sanitisers and disinfectant around the practice, and we ask that clients use these on entering and exiting the practice. We also ask that clients adhere to the World Health Organisation 20 second hand washing technique
> If any animals require repeat prescriptions, and you are at risk or self isolating, we are offering a home delivery or postage service. Please ring the practice to enquire
> Essential farm work is continuing, but we ask that all our farmers ring ahead with any orders to ensure we can get everything ready in advance
We would like to reassure all our loyal clients that this is a fluid situation that could potentially change at any moment, but we intend to work within the guidelines announced without compromising animal welfare and treatment and the health and safety of the general public
We still have staff answering phones and vets available to triage any animals over the phone. Your concerns are important to us, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all in this situation together and are here to support you and the animals that bring so much love into our lives
